Conservationist and South Florida artist, Guy Harvey and Fort Lauderdale's scuba diving expert, Neal Watson, will be enhancing scuba diving in Bahamas with the development of a new dive centre at Guy Harvey Outpost resort in Bimini.
Scuba diving in Bahamas is set to get even better as Fort Lauderdale's scuba diving specialist, Neal Watson, teams up with conservationist and South Florida artist, Guy Harvey in the development of new diving centres across Guy Harvey Outpost Resorts.
The pair will be developing a new scuba diving centre on the Bimini islands in the western district of the Bahamas and will see the arrival of a 60-foot dive boat with tow decks, a glass bottom and capacity for up to 100 passengers.
The partner's first dive centre is scheduled to open in mid-October 2010 at the Bimini Big Game Club which re-opened earlier this summer as a Guy Harvey Outpost Resort and Marina after $3.5 million worth of renovations including the upgrades of 51 rooms.
Watson is a scuba diving expert and after opening his first dive operation in 1975 in Bimini, he has since worked under the Neal Watson Undersea Adventures brand throughout the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Watson also broke the world record for scuba depth after diving 437 feet on compressed air. The accomplished diver is now President of the Bahamas Diving Association and is on the board of directors for the Dive Equipment and Marketing Association.
The Big Game Club in Bimini is situated in the historic Alice Town on the North Bimini Island and has been providing accommodation for travellers' scuba diving in Bahamas since 1947. The resort features a swimming pool, a restaurant, a luxury spa, fitness suite and its very own 75 slip marina.
Bimini offers stunning scenery and an array of breathtaking diving sites including Atlantis Road, The Bimini Barge, The Strip, Turtle Rocks, Little Caverns, Rainbow Reef, Moray Alley and Continental Shelf.
The crystal clear waters of the Gulf Stream are thriving with marine species and scuba divers can explore the beautiful reefs and coral gardens whilst sharing the waters with Yellowtail Snapper, Nassau Grouper, Trumpetfish, Green Morays, Nurse Sharks, Sergeant Majors, Angelfish, Parrotfish, Spotted Eagle Rays, Reef Octopus, Spotted Moray Eels, large Reef Crabs, Spiny Lobster, Southern Stingray, Peacock Flounder, and Southern Stingrays.
