Travellers looking to book scuba diving holidays in Cuba will be overwhelmed at the beauty of the Jardines de la Reina – the Gardens of the Queen – within an archipelago in South East Cuba which is home to the national park and protected area.

The Jardines de la Reina, fondly known as the Gardens of the Queen, offers a breathtaking and unique experience for scuba diving holidays in Cuba.

Situated in the south of Cuba in the Caribbean Sea, the archipelago was named by Christopher Columbus and is one of Cuba's largest protected areas and national parks. The marine natural park comprises 250 virgin coral islands spanning over 75 miles and is home to an abundance of animals, birds, fauna, flora, and colourful Caribbean marine life.

Travellers looking for scuba diving holidays in Cuba can experience sightings of many different species of sharks including Nurse, Black tip, Caribbean Reef, Silky, Cararinus, Hammerhead and Whale sharks. From October to May, water visibility can reach up to 200 feet allowing excellent conditions to explore the shallow reefs and walls lined with soft colourful sponges, corals and darting tropical fish.

Avalon Fish and Diving Centre is the only operator permitted to take visitors to these spectacular diving sites in Cuba and only 500 divers are permitted to access the sites each year.

The Italian company, Avalon, works with the Cuban government to provide diving holidays for travellers by offering experiences such as liveaboard in Cuba onboard La Tortuga, the double decker floating hotel; the luxury yacht, Avalon Fleet I; La Reina, a recently refurbished sixty-nine-foot yacht; Halcon, a luxury seventy-five-foot yacht; and the five-cabin yacht, and Caballones, which is perfect for manoeuvring around the smaller islets.

Guests can stay onboard this large floating hotel, La Tortuga, without having to worry about seasickness because the boat is secured in a protected channel of one of the larger islands. Visitors can enjoy wireless Internet access, en-suite air conditioned guest cabins, and a large dining room with decking area offering delicious authentic cuisine from Cuba and gourmet Italian dishes to tantalise the taste buds.
