Blau Costa Verde Overview
Beautifully tucked away in tropical gardens and wonderfully set overlooking the beach, the Blau Costa Verde has a setting worth writing home about and will definitely be a place to remember and cherish by the whole family. Standing right by a beautiful stretch of the stunning Guardalavaca beach in Holguin, there’s a real Robinson Crusoe feel to this resort. Not only is it backed by a white sandy beach, but its collection of low-rise buildings is surrounded by palms and mangroves, making guests feel encircled by tropical beauty everywhere they turn their head to.
Once you step inside the resort you'll find yourself surrounded by a typically Caribbean vibe – cue walls painted in tropical shades, wicker furniture and parlour palms with the bedrooms following suit. Blue and yellow dominate the colour scheme here, with tiled floors and pine furniture the mainstays. Finishing touches come in the form of air-conditioning, mini-fridges and satellite TVs.
A top feature here that deserves praise here is the food and in this area guests really rate the choice. There is a buffet restaurant serving up dishes from around the globe and hosting regular theme nights. On-the-spot cooking stations mean you get made-to-order eggs in the mornings and griddled shrimp in the evenings. Plus, there is also the possibility of taking your pick from two à la carte restaurants. The first offers up age-old Cuban recipes, while the Italian is singled out for praise by the tourist board for its authentic cooking.
Hogging the limelight, though, is the pool. It’s a huge lagoon-shaped number that snakes its way through the lawns. It comes complete with a swim-up bar and, at one curved end, a whirlpool bath. Little ones aren’t forgotten about either - they have their own pool.
Guests will find plenty in the way of activities here with family-friendly options including bike hire and mini-golf. Adults can sign-up for a free scuba lesson in the pool, or learn the local lingo with a Spanish lesson
