Egypt's national flag carrier airline and a member of Star Alliance, EgyptAir is based at Cairo International Airport as its main hub from where it operates scheduled flights, passenger and freight services to more than 75 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. On top of this EgyptAir boasts an extensive network of domestic services focused on Cairo, Egypt's capital.

Operating daily flights to Egypt in a fleet of brand new Airbus planes, Egypt Air (who code-share with BMI) offers travellers a comfortable and pleasant connection to the Red Sea coast.

Flying to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada – both via Cairo – from London Heathrow (with UK internal flights operating from regional airports too), Egypt Air stand out from the crowd as a solid option for divers.

Big seats, plentiful leg room, seat back entertainment and very good food are part of the package, but the real coup de grace is the baggage allowance – a whopping 30kgs per diver in the hold, and the normal hand baggage allowance on top. Excess baggage for technical divers and/or keen photographers are not over the top either!

The routes are flexible, offering you the easy option of a stop for a night or two in Cairo to see the Pyramids, but if you prefer to be on your way to resort, the time in Cairo is less than 2 hours – a perfect opportunity to rest, stretch, and get your visa from the desk in the Domestic Departures area, thus avoiding the queues at either Sharm el Sheikh or Hurghada airport arrivals terminals.

There are numerous daily flights to choose from, so your scuba diving holidays in Egypt are not affected by anti-social flight times.
