Situated on the main resort strip in Varadero is the Marlin Marina Chapelin, a purpose built yachting marina, and home to the range of water craft for watersports excursions.
Also on the main marina is Barracuda, the largest dive centre in Varadero.
BSAC, SSI, ACUC and CMAS accredited, and complete with its own compressor and kit room, this is the home to 4 large, purpose built dive boats. Spacious, very powerful, and well equipped, these large boats will transport you to one of the 35+ dive sites in less than 30 mintues.
The multi-lingual and highly qualified staff, Eddie, Alfredo, Alex and Carlos to name a few, will welcome you warmly to their operation, ensuring that you are registered and equipped with the latest ScubaPro gear before embarking on the days diving.
From deep and dramatic wall diving to shallow canyons alive with corals, sponges and numerous crustaceans, to several fantastic wrecks (including a Russian Destroyer sitting upright at 25 metres, complete with deck guns, rocket launchers and torpedoes, and the picturesque stern section of a oil tanker teeming with life), you will see masses of schooling fish, including giant barracuda, giant morays up close, spadefish and snapper, together with an abundance of macro-life including tunicates, crabs and tiny cleaner wrasse, all in warm waters, in an un-crowded manner with great viz.
Don't forget too the regularly scheduled trip to the Bay of Pigs to dive some excellent wrecks and caves, and if caves are your thing, one hour away in the countryside of Matanzas you will find some excellent and fully ‘lined' caves to dive too. An additional ‘must-dive' is the Ojo del Megano Blue-hole – an underwater cave 70 metres in diameter in the nearby reefs of the Bay of Cadiz. The choice and variety of dive sites is massive here, and there are plenty of contingency sites too in the case of inclement weather.
And to top it all, as you base your diving on two dives per day, you will be back in your hotel for a late lunch! A third dive per day, and even night diving, are available subject to local demand and weather conditions.

Dropping down the shot line to 23 metres, you will be on the deck! The superstructure extends up above your heads, so even for those who are limited to 18 metres depth, there is still an opportunity to experience a big wreck in open seas!
