PADI, the world's biggest diver training organisation, has recently announced it will award the receiver of the 20 millionth diver certification, with free scuba diving holidays. The lucky winner will be able to dive in the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland.
PADI, the largest diver training organisation in the world, recently announced its “Countdown to 20 million” campaign. The lucky person to receive PADI´s 20 millionth scuba certification will become the winner of the most amazing scuba diving holidays of their lifetime, as they will be awarded a fantastic trip to Australia´s Great Barrier Reef, the largest in the world and one of the seven wonders of the natural world. PADI is counting the number of certifications given out from now onwards and will immediately announce the winner, after they have reached their 20 million goal.
PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) employs more than 135,000 trained professionals who work tirelessly introducing new divers to the techniques of safe scuba diving, as well as expanding the skills of experienced divers through its 6,000 diving centres and resorts around the world. The workers of this organisation give out close to 1,000,000 certifications a year worldwide. One of their main goals is to encourage more people to take part in this thrilling activity, whilst teaching them to respect the environment as and instructing them with safety measures for divers.
Brian Cronin, chief executive officer for PADI Worldwide is happy and proud about the organisation’s growing success. “It is incredible to see what started as an idea by Ralph Erickson and John Cronin nearly 45 years ago, has grown into ‘the way the world learns to dive’,” he said “The fact that PADI is nearing its 20 millionth certification is a testament to the power and wisdom of their vision as well as the talent and dedication of PADI Instructors across the globe. We are proud that this organisation has been able to introduce people to new life-changing experiences through diving, and we look forward to the next 20 million.”
The fortunate diver to receive PADI’s 20 millionth certification will be presented with an all-expenses-paid trip for two people, where the winner and his chosen partner, will be able to enjoy the most exotic scuba diving abroad trip any diver could ever dream of. Expeditions to the Great Barrier Reef and other local attractions like the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest will be guaranteed by courtesy of Tourism Queensland. The lucky travellers will have the times of their lives as they participate in dive excursions to the Great Barrier Reef, including a three-day, three-night live-aboard adventure to picturesque dive sites such as Cod Hole and the breathtaking Ribbon Reefs. Moreover, the PADI Instructor to give out the 20 millionth diver certification, and its associated diving centre or resort will each receive a trip to Australia.
Every scuba divers’ dream, The Great Barrier Reef, is located in the Australian state of Queensland. Over 1,400 miles long, the Great Barrier Reef is one of the most famous scuba diving destinations in the world. Its stunning coloured coral, together with the huge variety of fish species (over 1500) in addition to its astonishing submarine vegetation makes this extensive reef system the most incredible dive site in the world. Visible from outer space, the Great Barrier Reef’s breathtaking beauty is also extended above the water, where tropical islands and coral cays, along with white-sand beaches and rainforests filled with native creatures, are part of this remarkable sight.
PADI’s website has already launched a “Countdown to 20 Million Certifications” counter that provides daily updates as PADI waits to meet their its goal, which they expect to be reached by late September. This unique opportunity for divers to experience the most incredible scuba diving holidays for free is withstanding for new and experienced divers who obtain any level of scuba certification at any of the 6,000 PADI dive centres or resorts worldwide.
